How can the Liberals and NDP not see that cheerleading, even subsidizing jobs in the auto sector that produce cars and truck that account for 25% of Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions yet have nothing to say when they kill the jobs associated with the cancellation of Northern Gateway and Energy East.
NDP leaders and cabinet ministers in BC have avoided healthcare waiting lists by using the Cambie Street Surgery Centre, a private clinic but have spent millions of tax dollars trying to prevent patients from doing the same. But now the BC Supreme Court has ruled against the government saying it’s forcing patients to suffer needlessly.
The scorecard for cancelling and delaying pipelines in Canada: record shipments by rail and truck = higher CO2 emissions. Massive discount on Canadian oil = $15 billion loss for Cnd. economy and up to $4 billion loss for Alberta treasury this year = less money for services like healthcare. And opponents call that winning.
Everytime there is a fiscal update there is a lot of ideological talk about tax fairness. Despite what economists will tell you is fair, politicians always go for votes over the fair and responsible solutions.
