The BC carbon tax introduced 10 years ago, received support from just about everyone (except the NDP). Business groups and individuals supported it because it was accompanied by offsetting individual and business tax reductions. In other words, potential big benefit with minimal impact on the economy.
Self-described progressives in Canada seem willfully blind to the problems facing Europe. How else can you explain their championing of the same disastrous policies which are causing upheaval across that continent?
You gotta love it when a politician talks about the job creation from their latest spending announcement as if spending billions of dollars on just about anything wouldn’t create jobs.
Let’s look into gas prices but leave out the single biggest component because it might prove to be politically awkward.

Just like the former Soviet Union but let’s not stop at demanding lower gas and housing prices. Why not every price we don’t like – except the cost of government, of course.
