The fact that cities can’t run deficits means that every spending increase has to be covered by taxes.  And that’s meant massive increase in property taxes for Calgary’s businesses who pay 3 1/2 times the rate compared to residential rates.

Canadian families are on the hook for $27,000 in order to cover the shortfall in Federal pensions.  What most people don’t realize is that the anti-business crowd is working to make that number higher.

Simply put – millions of people will not receive the pension benefits they’ve been promised. Higher taxes, reduced benefits and social unrest will be the result.

According to the late Auditor General, Michael Ferguson, when it comes to spending there is a culture in the federal bureaucracy that avoids responsibility. Just look at the Federal governments’ Phoenix pay system, F35 fighter jets program or botched cyber security systems to confirm his point.
