According to the late Auditor General, Michael Ferguson, when it comes to spending there is a culture in the federal bureaucracy that avoids responsibility. Just look at the Federal governments’ Phoenix pay system, F35 fighter jets program or botched cyber security systems to confirm his point.
In driving from Calgary to Vancouver there is no way to avoid the big difference in gas prices between the two provinces.
No accountability, no responsibility and no consequences is not a recipe for sound decision making but that’s how it’s done.
