No Sign The Majority Understand The Issues At Stake

Any wage increase for Teachers above what has already been negotiated with the Nurses, BCGEU & CUPE, will automatically get passed along to those other Government Unions beccause of what are called “me to” clauses.

Thereby multiplying the cost to taxpayers. But I don’t see many people…..

What few seem to understand, even teachers and commentators, is that other public sector contracts like the nurses and BCGEU are linked to this negotiation. If the BCTF gets a better deal then the others automatically get an increase to bring their contracts in line!

Crush The Protecting Of Bad Teachers

Job protection & seniority policies where dealt a fatal blow in a landmark decision in California last week. The Superior Court ruled in favor of 9 students who sued both the State & 2 teachers unions. .

The court ruled they undermined the quality of education by protecting the worst teachers at the expense of the most disadvantaged students. 

As for how much more money taxpayers are going to pay for salaries & benefits…….
