Most analysts were surprised by the rate hike coming in September. The Bank of Canada has now reversed the two big rate decreases in 2015. It has also given itself some room to drop rates if it becomes necessary in the future.

In the NAFTA negotiations the US Government wants Canadians to pay 220% less on skim milk, 98% less on butter and 285% less for chicken. Our politicians answer? NO. The Liberals, NDP and the Conservatives want the poor, the middle class and the rich to pay more and that’s it!

The Liberal Governmnent is planning on taking in an additional $215 Million by changing the laws governing private corporations. The Government is trying to sell this hike in taxes as being more fair. Yes, there is a fairer way to do it. The bad news for Government is it would involve no raise in taxes!

Finance Minister Morneau and Prime Minister Trudeau confirmed what Money Talks has been saying for more than a year….that the past and current deficit spending was not about stimulating the economy!
