In the aftermath of the phony Covington High School scandal, you can file the Jussie Smollett’s racist hoax under fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me – at least when it comes to those ready to jump on any story they can paint as a reflection of Donald Trump’s America and forget waiting for the full story.
It should be no surprise that when governments throw money at a company or industry jobs can be protected or created but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t have done far more if spent elsewhere – including leaving it in taxpayers’ pockets.

Our societal models are based on confrontation where disrespect and demonizing opponents is the norm. Shaming and bullying is the norm on an increasing number of subjects. Let’s face it, we love the politics of division and labour/management strife but then somehow we’re surprised that bullying is a problem.
