Paying lip service, waving signs talking big achieves next to nothing. We love our virtue signaling though, since anyone can do it with very little energy, focus, commons sense or practicality required. It also explains why we’re talking about the same issues for decades because we increasingly value talk over action. Unless our public leaders are putting forth specific plans founded on research & historical facts, that welcomes critical evaluation, it’s just blowing smoke.

Kinder Morgan Pipeline Opponents are essentially saying the natives do not qualify for the enhanched lifestlye it would provide them. Worse, Oil Industry Opponents as a whole are essentially moving to shut-down the most powerful source of income that we have in Canada, the Oil Industry, that essentially funds our massive social programs to help the poor.

Go Figure. An Insights West poll finds that the vast majority of people concerned about affordable housing yet support policies that increase the costs like the new speculation tax and higher property purchase taxes.





Political Success in 2 Words – “Free Stuff”

The prospect of something for nothing is so powerful most voters will pull the lever for the party offering the most “free stuff”. The huge amount of new spending offered in the Ontario election will probably do the trick. Voters will go for it to. Why? It won’t be them who actually has to write a cheque for it!
