In the latest installment of “taxes do matter, you idiots” Price Waterhouse Coopers new report forecast huge jobs losses if Canada doesn’t lower its individual and corporate taxes in response to the Trump tax cuts.
First Nations leader Stephen Buffalo says they don’t need environmentalist to speak for them and then goes on to ask “why they are so determined to undercut the few opportunities we have to enjoy the kind of economic prosperity that non-Indigenous peoples take for granted in this country.”
NAFTA continues to make headlines as it affects everything from interest rates, stock markets and the loonies value. A trade war would not only do damage to Canada, but the US as well.
The discount on Canadian oil shipped to the US hit a 5 year record a few weeks ago. That’s a multi-billion dollar subsidy paid by Canadian producers, the federal and Alberta government because we can’t get our oil to international markets. Where’s the thank you note from the Americans to John Horgan and Andrew Weaver?
