I need a little help with the Special O online auction

As you may know, I’m on the Board of Special Olympics. I could write thousands of words about why, but instead I’ll let a parent of Special O athletes sum it up.

“We have two kids in Special Olympics… Imagine how it is when society treats you as ‘less’ and then there’s a place where you are the most important and everyone is cheering for you.”

That’s not the whole story but it’s sure part of it. People with intellectual disabilities like Down Syndrome, Fragile X or autism are too often overlooked and ignored. I hope you agree that in a country that claims to value inclusiveness, we need to change that.

I’m hoping you can help by taking a few moments and supporting the Special Olympics online auction taking place right now, and ending Tuesday at 8:00 pm. If you are thinking about a weekend getaway or going out for dinner or buying a nice bottle of wine – why not do it through the auction.

Plus there are some unusual items too. Like one week in a two-bedroom 5 star Grand Luxe condo in Nuevo Vallarta with 16 rounds of golf on the signature Jack Nicklaus course, home of the PGA Tour’s Mexico Open. Or two tickets to a Seahawks game complete with a private jet return trip! Or a 10oz silver coin.

All you have to do is go to www.sobcclassic.com – select Silent Auction from the menu on the left hand side, check out the items and see if there’s something that catches your eye – then make a bid

Much appreciated.
